“Tukwila has immense diversity, culturally as well as in the businesses that are represented here. Working with the businesses in this community is exciting because of the continued growth we are seeing in this area. Being a member of the Southside Chamber has helped me make connections in the Tukwila community and expended my own professional success.”

City of Tukwila: The City of Opportunity, the Community of Choice

The City of Tukwila is a great place for business. With over 40,000 jobs, more people work in Tukwila than in 29 counties in the State of Washington. Because the city of Tukwila offers diverse demographics and attracts a highly educated labor force many well-known companies such as Boeing, BECU and Costco, employ thousands of people.

Tukwila is also a retail powerhouse. Anchored by Westfield Southcenter, the largest shopping mall in the Pacific Northwest, Tukwila generated nearly $1.9 billion dollars in taxable retail sales in 2014. It is also home to hundreds of large and small businesses that help drive the region’s economic development, many of which are members of Tukwila’s diverse international community own.
