Highline College meets the education and training needs of South King County through innovative and quality programs. Highline offers a wide range of academic transfer and professional-technical education programs, with online, day, evening and weekend classes, and takes a multi-cultural approach to education for the success of all its students and the prosperity of its surrounding communities.
- Highline College houses the Center of Excellence for Global Trade and Supply Chain Management for the State of Washington, and is the flagship institution for strengthening Washington State’s competitive advantages in these areas through statewide education and training leadership. Highline’s Center of Excellence mobilizes a network of partners, resources, and key communications that provide substantial support to the state’s international trade and supply chain development efforts.
- Through a creative partnership with Central Washington University, time and place-bound students have the opportunity to complete baccalaureate and masters degrees without ever leaving South King County. Highline and CWU jointly occupy the Higher Education Center on the main campus in Des Moines.
- Highline’s Small Business Development Center [SBDC], StartZone, and the Department of Community Education and Training Services (CETS) have teamed up to meet the needs of the business community. The SBDC and StartZone are resources for one-to-one, free, confidential, counseling, research, resources and technical assistance for small and medium-size business owners, managers and entrepreneurs in southwest King County. CETS provides training for professional advancement, technology, entrepreneurship and other business skills including customized training developed with businesses to increase employee workplace skills and knowledge for application in today’s competitive business environment.
