Air Cargo Development

The Pacific Northwest’s premier international air cargo gateway, Sea-Tac is North America’s 21st busiest cargo airport and offers approximately 680,000 square feet of leasable space in 15 airside buildings and more than 3 million square feet of aircraft ramp space.

The airport offers daily, non-stop service to 77 domestic and 17 international destinations. Eleven of the international destinations are serviced with all-cargo main deck or wide-body carrier services.  Seattle’s location in the northwest corner of the United States makes it a great air gateway for cargo from Asia to North America. Sea-Tac also offers a similar flight time to major European air cargo hPort_AirCargo_350x233ubs. The airport’s sizable and well-populated market catchment area in the Northwest is served by multiple nonstop freighter services as well as belly cargo capacity available on numerous nonstop wide-body passenger flights.

Additional international service is available through Federal Express and domestic flights connecting in Anchorage and other large U.S. hubs.  Air cargo’s forecasted growth will increase the demand on Sea-Tac’s existing facilities. The Port is taking steps to accommodate the growth including expanding and developing airfield parking and staging areas and working to develop Port-owned off-airfield land for future air cargo support purposes.
